The public health agency of the state of California, which houses the Hollywood film industry, allows filming for films and television series indoors under certain conditions. The government body advises not to start filming before June 12.
Productions may only start after permission from officials who monitor and maintain public health. The California government reserves the right to supplement the security measures taken by film productions.
Prior to granting permission to restart a film production, the number of corona infections per 100,000 residents in California is considered. Non-filming personnel of a production will also be confronted with guidelines to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Due to the corona crisis, the filming of films and series in Hollywood and the rest of the United States has been largely frozen for months, with the premiere delayed as a result. Many existing series ended their season with fewer than the planned number of episodes, because the pandemic filming could not be completed on time.
