The filming of the third part of the Fantastic Beasts film series has been halted because a member of the crew has been infected with the corona virus, a spokesperson for film studio Warner Bros. to Daily Mail .
The spokesperson does not say which crew member has contracted the virus, but an initiate suspects that it is one of the actors. “Production will only be discontinued if someone cannot be filmed. No one says who it is, but it is someone who cannot be replaced,” said the Daily Mail source .
According to the original schedule, the third installment of the Harry Potter spin-off series was supposed to be released in November 2020. However, the process was delayed due to the corona virus.
It was also recently announced that Johnny Depp will no longer be seen in the third part as villain Grindelwald. The role is taken over by actor Mads Mikkelsen.
Depp was asked to step down from his role after losing his libel case against The Sun newspaper . The actor was dubbed ‘wife beater’ in The Sun after allegations made by his ex-wife Amber Heard.
A judge ruled that the article did not prove libel, as there would be enough evidence that Depp did indeed assault Heard. He is expected to go to court in March to reopen the lawsuit against The Sun.
