Already in 2012, Russell Crowe (53, “A Beautiful Mind” ) separated from his wife Danielle Spencer (48), with whom he has two sons Charles (14) and Tennyson (11). Now, apparently, he finally wants to leave his past behind him and is, therefore, hosting a huge auction in which 227 auction items are to come under the hammer – on a very specific day.
The auction, which bears the telling name “Russell Crowe: The Art of Divorce”, is scheduled for April 7th. This is not just Crowe’s birthday, but also his former wedding day. At the end of 2017, the Australian Daily Telegraph reported that the two actors had agreed on a divorce agreement and that the divorce could finally be finalized. Also, an online catalog of Sotheby’s Australia, where all auction goods are kept, speaks of Crowes “former wife”.
In addition to numerous guitars, paintings, watches, jewelery of his ex-wife, a Mercedes-Benz and two motorcycles are also numerous props from the films of the actor listed. Among other things, a breastplate and a sword from “Gladiator” as well as a leather jockstrap from “The Comeback” will be auctioned off. One of the most unusual and valuable objects, however, is a violin from 1890, played by Crowe in the movie “Master & Commander”. The instrument is estimated by the auction house at a value of up to about 90,000 euros.
