Ellen DeGeneres (64) has shared images showing that the area around her home in Montecito, California, has been flooded. “Montecito is being evacuated, the whole city,” the presenter said in a video on Twitter.
“It never, really never flows”
In her video, Ellen points out a stream behind her house. “It never, really never flows. But due to the unprecedented rainfall, that is now the case.”
Montecito is under mandatory evacuation. We are on higher ground so they asked us to shelter in place. Please stay safe everyone. pic.twitter.com/7dv5wfNSzG

Twelve people have already been killed because of the persistent storms that have been plaguing the state of California since December 26. On Monday, 25,000 people were evacuated, including residents of Montecito, where many big stars live such as Prince Harry and Meghan, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey.
Five years ago, more than 20 people were killed in Montecito by mudslides, also caused by heavy rains.
