The number of deaths following an attack by the Boko Haram terror group on an army post in Nigeria rose to 48 on Monday, reporting military sources. The army station was attacked on Thursday.
Members of the terrorist group stormed into trucks in Zari, a village in the northeast of Nigeria. Then a big fight arose.
On Thursday, 30 dead soldiers were reported and that number was increased to 48 on Monday after rescue workers found more bodies in the forests of Zari.
A military source told the AFP news agency that the search for survivors continues and that it is not inconceivable that more bodies are found.
Since a violent uprising, which began in 2009, Boko Haram killed more than 20,000 people and forced millions of people to flee their homes.
