The relaunch of the cult action game with David Carradine starts next month.
Cable Channel The CW has unveiled the first official trailer for Kung Fu, a modern reimagining of the 70s cult show starring David Carradine, starring Olivia Liang (Legacy).
The central character is 25-year-old Niki Chen (Liang). In an attempt to find herself and answers to exciting questions, she drops out of college and leaves the United States for a secluded Chinese monastery. On this journey, the girl completely changes her worldview and learns martial arts. After returning to her native San Francisco, Niki realizes the obvious: her hometown is filled with crime and corruption, and her family is under the control of the local Triad. Relying on loyal friends and relatives, Chen begins a confrontation with the criminal world and at the same time tries to find the mysterious killer of his Shaolin mentor.
The rest of the cast of the multi-part action game featured Mortal Kombat star Ludi Lin, as well as Shannon Dang, Tony Chang, John Prasida, Gavin Stenhouse, Eddie Liu, Yvonne Chapman, Vanessa Kai, Zi Ma and Heng Hua Tang. Showrunner is Christina M. Kim (“Blind Spot”) and production includes Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. The premiere will take place on April 7th.
