American actor, comedian and presenter Bob Saget passed away on Sunday, police in the US state of Florida reported. Saget became known for his starring role as Danny Tanner in the hit comedy series Full House , which ran from 1987 to 1995. From 1989 to 1997, Saget hosted the successful television show America’s funniest home videos .
From 2005 to 2014, Saget was also often heard but not seen in the American series How I Met Your Mother . He acted as the voice-over of main character Ted Mosby. From 2016 to 2020, the actor once again played Danny Tanner in the Fuller House series , a spinoff of Full House.
Security guards at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Orlando found Saget lifeless in his hotel room on Sunday. He had started a new comedy show in September 2021, with which he would tour the United States.
He performed Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida and just hours before his death wrote on Twitter about how much fun he had playing his show.
It’s unclear what caused Saget’s death, but the Orange County Police Department said on Twitter that there appears to be no crime or drug use. Saget was married and had three children.
