The actor and film director George Clooney is on the Canary Island of La Palma (Spain) to record the new film production of Netflix Good Morning, Midnight , the science fiction bestseller by writer Lily Brooks-Dalton.
The jet deprived of Clooney yesterday landed at the airport of La Palma and the actor moved amid tight security at his residence during the days of filming on the island, the Hotel Hacienda de Abajo, in Tazacorte.
The film adaptation of the novel Good Morning, MidnightIt is included in the post-apocalyptic science fiction genre. It tells the story of a scientist in the Arctic, who tries to contact the crew of a ship trying to return to Earth.
Clooney will play Augustine, a brilliant astronomer. That is why La Palma has been chosen for filming, and more specifically the astrophysical observatory of Roque de Los Muchachos, which houses part of the most important telescopes in the world.
Although it has not been made official due to the secrecy with which the producer acts, scenes will also be shot in other natural places of the island.
For several days, Hotel Hacienda Abajo in Tazacorte has been monitored by security forces, both private and by police officers, to safeguard the privacy of the actor and his film crew. Filming on La Palma is expected to last no less than a week.
This is Netflix’s second major production that arrives in La Palma in just over a year, after another hit series The Witcher did .
