Catherine Zeta-Jones is soon to be seen in the new Netflix series about the Addams family. The actress will play Morticia Addams, it has been announced.

The Netflix series revolves around daughter Wednesday and is also named after her. Morticia Addams, the mother of the family, can only be seen as a supporting role in the eight-episode series. Luis Guzman plays her husband Gomez.

Since 1964, movies and series about the creepy family have been regularly made. The new series tells how Wednesday (played by Jenna Ortega) uses her psychic powers to investigate a series of murders in a village. She also uses those powers to find out what happened to her parents 25 years ago.

Tim Burton, known for films such as Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas , will direct and produce the series.
