Cardi B has filed for divorce from Offset. The rapper has reportedly filed documents in Fulton County, Georgia Superior Court under her real names, Belcalis Almanzar and Kiari Cephus, as part of a divorce petition.
Cardi had previously sparked speculation that she was ending her relationship with Offset, with whom she has a two-year-old daughter, Kulture Kiari, when she posted a cryptic quote online.
The post read, “His heart finally told him to stop wasting time,” and captioned it, “it’s time,” along with a wink.
Offset and Cardi B briefly separated in 2018 before sparking reconciliation rumors in December when they were spotted together in Puerto Rico, later confirming speculations that they had rekindled their romance when they attended the 2019 Grammy Awards together.
At the time, the ‘I Like It’ rapper accused the Migos star of being unfaithful, but it was said that they were trying to fix things for the sake of their daughter Kulture. And that’s when Cardi insisted that “nothing” could make her “change her mind” about her decision to leave him.
She said: “I decided on my own. Nobody makes my decisions about my life except me. She didn’t want to go to marriage therapy. He suggested it, but it’s like, ‘I don’t want to go. There is no counselor or anything that can make me change my mind. “
Offset made a number of public gestures to get Cardi back, including when he invaded her set at the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles, along with a huge ‘Take Me Back Cardi’ sign made of white and red roses. Although she rejected his apology, he still thought it was the right thing to do.
He tweeted at the time: “All my mistakes have been made public I guess. It is only fair that my apologies are also made public “…
