Almost twenty years after his last episode, “Beverly Hills, 90210”, one of the most popular TV series of the 1990s, will return to service this summer for six episodes with a part of the original cast, announced Wednesday. Fox studios.
Brenda, Brandon, Kelly, Dylan … Broadcast in France from 1993 to 2001, the drama featured a bunch of high school students and students living in one of Los Angeles’ most luxurious suburbs, Beverly Hills (code postal code 90210). The series marked a generation on several continents, and also left as legacy to thousands of French children the names of his heroes.
Not everyone will appear in the cast of six episodes commissioned by Fox this summer, but Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh in the series), Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor), Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders), Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman), Brian Austin Green (David Silver) and Tori Spelling (Donna Martin) will be there.
They will not, however, embody their fictional characters, but will rather play “versions of themselves” fictionalized, “inspired by their lives and real relationships,” Fox studios emphasize.
The series will then return to the actors 19 years after the end of the shoot, each one having followed his path, until one of them submits to the others the idea of relaunching “Beverly Hills, 90210”, which should constitute the main plot of the mini-series, according to Fox. “What will happen when the first loves, the old romances, the friends and the enemies are together, while this cast of legend tries to take things back where he left them? “
Shannen Doherty and Luke Perry (respectively Brenda Walsh and Dylan McKay), who were among the main stars of the original series, will not be part of the remake, which will be simply called “90210”.
