A film adaptation of the Broadway piece The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife is made. Actresses Bette Midler and Sharon Stone will play the leading roles in this.
Midler ( First Wives Club ) plays Marjorie Taub, a well-to-do New York woman who is in a personal crisis, reports Variety.
Then her childhood friend Lee returns to the city, played by Stone ( Basic Instinct) , but she turns out to have a hidden agenda for her visit.
Andy Fickman ( She’s the man ) will direct the film.
The piece, written by Charles Busch, premiered in 2000. It was nominated for a Tony Award for best play and received good reviews. It is not yet known when the film version will premiere.
