State of Disaster has been declared by the Texas Gov. Greg Abbot Thursday in Bastrop County. Nine homes were destroyed by the wildfire and raced accross more than 43,00 acress.
According to authorities 150 homes has been threaten due Hidden Pines Fire.
Jessica Jackson with Texas A&M Forest service said that round about 400 homes have already been evacuated. 25% Fire was containted by the Thursday evenening.
The battle with the fire is going on with the help of fire crew, fixed wing air tankers and helicopters. According to Gov. Abbot “This has to be an echo of a nightmare that (residents) faced just a few years ago. Anyone who travels down just Highway 71 can see the charred remains of trees that were burned in the last fire, now only to see only another fire arise. I understand members of the community may be concerned about it,”.
In September 2001 Bastrop County was also home of a wildfire that destroyed 1691 homes and 2 peoper were killed in it.
In Sept. 2011 Texas had a wildfires and after that President Obama declared a major disaster in the state.
