American rapper Rakim Athelaston Mayers, better known by his stage name ASAP Rocky, was charged with two counts in connection with an alleged firearm attack on a former friend of his, which occurred in Hollywood on November 6, 2021, reported this Monday the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, George Gascon.
According to the prosecution, the singer allegedly pointed a semi-automatic pistol at the victim during “a heated argument” and fired twice.
The defendant, who was arrested on April 20 on suspicion of assault and later released on $550,000 bail, is expected to appear in local court next Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reports .
