The new Disney animation Ralph Breaks the Internet has delivered $ 18.5 million on the premiere day in the US. With that, the film has established a record; Never before has a film on the day before Thanksgiving yielded so much money, reports Forbes.
Other big Disney hits that went out on the same day, like Coco, Vaiana and Frozen, spent less money. Forbes suspects that Ralph Breaks the Internet will break even more records next weekend.
Ralph Breaks the Internet is the sequel to Wreck it Ralph from 2012. In that movie, a character from an old video game tries to discover if there can be more in life than the villain that he has in the game. In the sequel, Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) with his girlfriend Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) ends up on the internet.
Ralph Breaks the Internet receives many favorable reviews in the US. The film will run in Dutch cinemas from next week.
