An official feature documentary on the life of Celine Dion is in production and will be directed by Irene Taylor.
The giant Sony made the announcement Tuesday morning.
“Designed with the full participation and support of Celine Dion, the film will retrace the incredible life story of the Canadian singer and the accomplishments of her career, including iconic album releases, awards and honors, tours worldwide, and residences in Las Vegas, ”the press release said.
American filmmaker Irene Taylor recently directed Moonlight Sonata : Deafness in Three Movements, which focused on her son and his deaf parents. She was also previously nominated at the Academy Awards for the (short) documentary The Final Inch , which was about the fight to eradicate polio.
“I think Irene will be able to show everyone a part of me that they haven’t seen before… I know she will tell my story in the most honest and authentic way possible”, Celine Dion said in a press release.

Sony Music Entertainment is funding and distributing the film (via its premium content).
Remember that Celine will present a brand new show in November at Resorts World Las Vegas. She must give 10 performances there. His Courage world tour , which was cut short in 2020 with the pandemic, will resume in North America and Europe in the spring and summer of 2022.
The announcement of an official documentary on Charlemagne’s diva takes place two months before Aline’s release in Quebec on November 26. The film directed by Valérie Lemercier is strongly, but freely, inspired by the life of Celine Dion and her family.
