The American rapper Pop Smoke (20) was shot on Wednesday morning in a house in Los Angeles, TMZ writes .
The rapper was in a home in the Hollywood Hills when two men with masks entered the house early in the morning. According to the police, several shots were subsequently fired, injuring Pop Smoke. He was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital with an ambulance, but was declared dead there.
The two men fled the house after the shooting and have not yet been caught. Their identity is also unknown and it is not clear whether Pop Smoke knew the men.
Pop Smoke, who was born in 1999 in Brooklyn as Bashar Barakah Jackson, released the mixtape Meet the Woo in July . It included the song Welcome to the Party, which was played a lot last summer. Rapper Nicki Minaj made a remix of the song. He also worked with Travis Scott.
Pop Smoke would perform next summer at hip-hop festival Wooh Hah! at the Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek.
