It hurts Amber Heard (35) ‘a lot’ that she has been involved in a legal battle with her ex-husband Johnny Depp (53) for years. The actress hates that she has to relive the details of their lives together “in front of the world,” she writes on Instagram.
“I never mentioned his name and wrote about the price women pay for speaking out against men in power. I still pay that price.”
The former lovebirds, who were married from 2015 to 2017, will meet in Virginia court on Monday. The actor has sued his ex for defamation following an article she wrote in 2018 in The Washington Post about domestic violence that she says she has experienced. Amber does not mention the name of her ex in the message, but according to the actor it is obvious that she means him. The actress previously accused him of having loose hands, something he denies.

‘I never mentioned his name and wrote about the price women pay for speaking out against men in power. I’m still paying that price, but hopefully when this case is closed I can move on with my life and so will Johnny,” writes Amber, who also says not to post on social media for the next few weeks due to the lawsuit.
The actress is grateful for all the support she has had during the matter. “And in the coming weeks I’ll need it more than ever.”
Last year, the two also faced each other in court in London. Johnny then lost a case against British tabloid The Sun over an article calling him a “wife-beater.” The judge ruled that there was no libel because he felt that there was insufficient evidence that the actor had not mistreated his ex. Amber was brought in as a witness by The Sun and told her story in court about her alleged abusive ex-husband.
