Announced in 2015, the inspired work of Jack and the Magic Bean , postponed for the first time from 2018 to 2020, was postponed to Disney’s Greek calendars, reveals The Hollywood Reporter .
In the middle of the 16th century, Gigantic tells the story of a boy called Jack, dreaming of glory and conquests. The latter venturing into the clouds meets a giant people with whom he sympathizes. If the pitch and the first illustration were seductive, they will not materialize in the cinema in November 2020. Disney has indeed said to have another project for this exit window, and even seems to have put Gigantic aside for a little while, according to Ed Catmull, president of the Walt Disney Animation division.
When you start a project, it is impossible to know how the creative process will unfold, and sometimes, no matter how much we like an idea, or how hard we put our hearts to the work, it just does not work simply not. With Gigantic, we have come to this point, and even if it is a difficult decision to make, we are pauseing development at the moment. We concentrate our energies on another project that was in the boxes, on which we will soon give details, and which will be released for Christmas 2020.
