A new company has taken over the APB Reloaded, planning big changes
For some reason, everyone wants to save the APB. Right now, Little Orbit took the job.
APB’s revised version, APB Reloaded, was released in 2013 but was not the peak of quality. The free-to-play MMO has become a very fun alternative to GTA Online, but it could not sustain the player number.
Little Orbit has taken over the game, and CEO Matthew Scott announced plans for serious improvements. There will be a new game mode (who wants to take you to battle royale?), A new map, and sooner or later it will be packed under Unreal Engine 4.
“This is going to be a long process, and we have to rewrite a lot of systems, and we have to pack lots of artwork.”
In the past, there was talk of UE4 playing, but the former team could not deliver this promise. Now, then.
According to Matthew Scott, the changeover to UE4 will not be seen in sight or performance. All this is just about making the game easier to expand and this would be the long-term goal of the new publisher. We’ll see what’s going to happen.
