A man was detained after attempting to cross one of the White House’s security gates, US intelligence reported on Sunday.
President Donald Trump was inside the building at the time of the incident, which occurred early Sunday morning.
Secret services reported the news on Twitter around 8 am Sunday.
According to authorities, the individual tried to jump over a row of metal bike racks on Pennsylvania Avenue.
These supports were installed to create a second security fence around the White House following a series of intrusion attempts in recent years, including one during which a man had managed to enter the Presidential residence in 2014.
The secret services did not provide further details.
