Filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering announced that they were preparing a documentary on sexual misconduct in Hollywood.
The duo announced earlier this week that its film would shine a spotlight on “the behavior of predators like Harvey Weinstein and others” and on a culture that “sustains and protects them.”
The filmmakers said they had been trying to shoot the film for several years, but had found few people willing to testify publicly and no distributors wanted to join the film. But when the allegations against Harvey Weinstein began to multiply, it was “as if an invisible barrage had given way”.
Kirby Dick directed the Oscar-winning documentary The Invisible War on sexual assault in the US military. In 2014, he signed The Hunting Ground, which focused on sexual assault on college campuses. This last film was produced by The Weinstein Company.
