Five Democratic Party officials have launched impeachment proceedings against US President Donald Trump, according to Associated Press reports.

These elected officials in particular accuse the US president of obstruction of justice
in the case of collusion between some of his relatives and Russia during the US election campaign.

“The time has come to make the American people and this president understand that the repeated insults to our Constitution must end with the impeachment,” said Steven Cohen, Tennessee Democrat.
The Congress is in the hands of the Republicans, but this procedure of dismissal is unlikely to succeed, says AP. In addition, Democratic leaders do not support this initiative. They fear that such a procedure will only increase the support of the Republican base to President Trump.
