The man who hacked Jennifer Lawrence and revealed several nude photos was imposed by a judge for 8 months. In addition to his prison sentence, he, George Garofano, will remain under supervision for another 3 years if he is free again.
Garofano hacked the iCloud accounts of the actress, who until her dismay saw herself naked across the internet. In April he confessed guilt and said he had pretended to be an employee of Apple’s online security team in order to gain access to usernames and passwords.
The hacker was one of four people charged with the extensive ‘celebrity hacking’ scandal, which began in 2014. Not only Jennifer Lawrence was the bobbin, including Kate Upton, Ariana Grande and Kirsten Dunst also saw their personal photos appear online. The other 3 hackers had already been tried, with sentences varying from 9 to 18 months in prison.
