The Dutch authorities announced today, Wednesday, the formation of an alliance including France, Germany and Italy, with the aim of ensuring the production of a vaccine against the emerging Corona virus.
The Dutch Ministry of Health said that these countries are “studying several promising initiatives with many pharmaceutical companies” to produce a vaccine within the European Union.
“The Netherlands, Germany, France and Italy have agreed that any positive outcome necessitates joint strategy and investments,” she added.
The alliance also aims to ensure adequate doses of vaccine are available to low-income countries, especially in Africa.
