Selena Gomez always shows her new music to her friend and colleague Taylor Swift first. The singer tells in an interview with radio channel KTU that Swift and her parents were the first to see the video clips of her two new singles.
“When I had the video clips of Lose You To Love Me and Look At Her Now , I went to Taylor and her parents,” Gomez says. “We were all sitting on the couch looking out at the light. It was very cute to see how Taylor and her mother Andrea responded to the songs.” In conversation with Apple’s channel Beats 1, 27-year-old Gomez said that 29-year-old Swift and her mother had tears in their eyes after seeing Lose You To Love Me.
The singers have been giving each other the firsts of new music for years. “She showed me Fearless (Swifts album from 2008, ed.) Before it came out. I can still remember that, because we’ve been best friends ever since.”
Gomez, who says he is a big fan of Swift’s work, does not know whether the two will work together on music soon. “We certainly thought about it, but we also respect each other what we are doing and give each other the space. I don’t know if it will happen in the future.”
Gomez released the two new singles last week. The singer already scored hits in the Netherlands with songs like Wolves with Marshmello, It Ain’t Me with Kygo and Back To You .
