The actor did not rule out that he has political ambitions, to support his community against systemic racism.
Will Smith revealed during his interview to the Pod Save America podcast, hosted by Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor, that he could, in the future, run for political office.
The actor did not rule out that he has political ambitions:
“I think for now I’ll let that office clean up a bit. Then I will consider it at some point, ”he revealed.
His intention is to support his community against systemic racism, in addition to ‘promoting understanding between people, and social harmony’.
“I will certainly do my part, whether I remain artistic or, at some point, enter the political arena,” he added.
“Fortunately, ignorance prevails more than blatant evil, which is why I have always been encouraged that the process of education and understanding can alleviate some of the most dangerous and difficult aspects of racism that are sadly embedded in the fibers of our country.” he claimed.
The actor is currently promoting his new Netflix series, the sociocultural documentary Amend: The Fight for America, in which Smith presents a look at the crucial role that the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution plays in the incessant fight for equality of Rights.
