Venus Williams has reached the quarterfinals at the Miami WTA tournament. The 37-year-old American, ranked eighth in Florida, dominated British title defender Johanna Konta in three sets: 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. Konta started the game well, but Williams recovered and convincingly dragged into the second set. In the third set, the American had the predominance, especially after Konta had been treated at the back. Williams will meet in the quarterfinals the winner of the match between the American Danielle Collins and Monica Puig from Puerto Rico.
