Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 won two awards – best special effects and best cinematography – at the 71 st edition of the British Film and Television Academy Awards (BAFTA), held last night in London.
Mr. Villeneuve’s work was named in eight categories.
Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri was the winner of the evening with five awards: Best Film, Best British Film, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress (Frances McDormand) and Best Supporting Actor (Sam Rockwell).
Guillermo del Toro won Best Director for The Shape of Water, while Gary Oldman was voted Best Actor for his incarnation of Churchill in Darkest Hour.
