Guy Ritchie is a prolific filmmaker, constantly releasing new movies. He is back with yet another film, “The Covenant”, which has already created buzz with its recent trailer release.
The film follows the story of Sergeant John Kinley, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who is a war veteran from Afghanistan. After surviving a dangerous ordeal in the war-torn country, he is rescued by an Afghan named Ahmed, played by Dal Salim, who puts his own life at risk to get the injured Kinley back to the American camp. The trailer hints at an action-packed, thrilling ride that promises to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.
Several years after the events in Afghanistan, Kinley is shocked to learn that despite prior promises, his friend Ahmed and his family are not granted entry into America. The Taliban’s rapid takeover of the country has put them in grave danger. In an effort to repay his debt to Ahmed and to save his friend and his family from a deteriorating situation, Kinley takes action.
Guy Ritchie not only directed the film, but also wrote the script with the help of Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies (known for “A Really Angry Man”). The film features an all-star cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal and Dal Salim as the lead actors, and also includes Antony Starr, Alexander Ludwig, Jason Wong, Bobby Schofield, Sean Sagar, and Emily Beecham. This diverse and talented ensemble promises to bring depth and excitement to the film.
