Ann Patchett’s audio edition of the new novel has a voice that listeners should find familiar: Tom Hanks.
HarperAudio announced on Monday that the Oscar winner is naming Patchett “The Dutch House”, which comes out on September 24th. The book is a multi-generational story centered on the brothers and sisters of Danny and Maeve, and tells Danny’s point of view. Patchett told The Associated Press in a recent email that she and Hanks have become friendly in recent years. She interviewed him in Washington, DC, when he was promoting his storybook, “Rare Type.” He and his wife, Rita Wilson, also met Patchett in Nashville, where she runs the Parnasse Books.
Hanks has told audio books, including “Rare” and Stephen Colbert “I’m a Pole (And If You Can!)”
