Three producers of Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show have been fired after an internal investigation into systematic (sexual) harassment and racism on the set.
DeGeneres announced the layoffs of Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman to its employees via a video meeting on Monday, BuzzFeed writes . Producer Warner Bros. confirmed the three will be departing from The Ellen DeGeneres Show .
An internal investigation into disorder on the set is quickly completed, according to the 62-year-old presenter.
On the set of The Ellen DeGeneres Show there would have been (or has been) systematic racism and (sexual) harassment. Entertainment site BuzzFeed spoke to more than 30 current and former employees of the show earlier this year, who spoke of a “toxic work culture” on the program.
With the resignation of the producers, the pressure on DeGeneres seems to have diminished somewhat. The talk show host also came under personal attack and felt compelled to publicly apologize. According to DeGeneres, something ” clearly ” had gone wrong on her set. “I am very disappointed. (…) The talk show bears my name and I take full responsibility for it.”
The producers have always denied having been involved in the allegations.
