The creators promise that the next episode of The Walking Dead will be very different from the franchise so far, both in terms of direction and tone. It may not be easy to take such statements seriously after Fear The Walking Dead was similarly overtaken at the time, but after the first official photos, a preview has now arrived, projecting a truly novel status quo.
The protagonists of the still-untitled series are young people who have grown up in the midst of a zombie apocalypse while being locked away from the collapse of civilization in the safety of a well-functioning community. Their goal, therefore, is not to restore the old order and to organize society, but, on the contrary, to finally venture out and discover the world – and a little of themselves – without any realization of the dangers they face.
Starring Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Hal Cumpston and Nicolas Cantu, the first 10-season season is set to debut sometime in the spring of 2020 with Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island).
