The first trailer for Shantaram, based on the novel of the same name by David Gregory Roberts, has been released , Collider reports .
The events in the project take place in the 1980s. Charlie Hunnam played the title role. His character is Lyn Ford, who escaped from a maximum security prison. The guy dreams of starting a new life and goes to India. But in the slums of Bombay, he faces other problems – Ford has come under the radar of the mafia.
In addition to Hunnam, the show features Antonia Desplat, Shubham Saraf, Elektra Kilby and others.
The first three episodes will air on Apple TV+ on October 14. The remaining nine episodes of the show will air weekly on Fridays through December 16.
