A man who stalked Taylor Swift has been sentenced to 30 months in prison by a US judge in the state of Texas. He confessed, according to American media, to be guilty of writing threatening emails and letters that he sent to the singer’s record company.
The stalker sent a total of forty letters to the record company. The first were a request from the man to get in touch with the singer. When he did not receive a satisfactory answer to those letters, his writings became increasingly threatening. He personally delivered three of the letters to the office of record company Big Machine Records.
After his imprisonment, the Austin man has to report to the probation service for another three years. In addition, he is not allowed to appear in the vicinity of the singer.
It wasn’t the first time Taylor had been stalked. In 2019, a man who broke into the singer’s New York apartment twice was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
