The film adaptation of the Sonic license mixing real shots and computer graphics is still in production. As shooting begins in Canada at the end of July, Paramount unveiled new details about the project.
During a press conference held in recent days to discuss upcoming releases, Jim Gianopulos, CEO of production company Paramount Pictures Corporation, discussed the plot of the film Sonic the Hedgehog (with Jeff Fowler and Tim Miller at the controls) scheduled for December 11, 2019 in theaters: ” Sonic is a juvenile delinquent who goes on an adventure in a classic rural environment with a local policeman. The story seemed immediately engaging and the pitch was good enough to show the way it was going to take.
A new design for Sonic
The policeman in question will be played by American comedian James Marsden who plays Teddy Flood in Westworld. In addition, Patrick Casey, the screenwriter of the film, has recently spoken on Tails’ Channel about the role of Sonic and its look. According to him, it is to be expected that the blue hedgehog is indeed the main character of the film (an important detail for Sega and the teams of the film) with a more realistic but faithful design.
