The news comes as part of the streaming platform’s plans to expand. The Beats 1 channel – launched in 2015 – will be replaced by three separate channels: Apple Music 1, Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country.

Apple Music Hits will feature shows hosted by Snoop Dogg, Twain, Alanis Morissette, Backstreet Boys, Meghan Trainor, Ciara, Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 and Huey Lewis.

“We will continue to invest in live radio and create opportunities for listeners around the world to connect with the music they love,” said Schusser.
