Kevin Spacey’s lawyer described as “ridiculous” the accusation that the actor made unwanted touching to an 18-year-old in 2016.
Defense lawyer Alan Jackson criticized prosecutors on Monday at a hearing in Nantucket District Court, where Kevin Spacey also made a surprise appearance.
The 59-year-old actor did not speak during the hearing. He did not answer the journalists’ questions when he arrived at the courthouse or when he left the courthouse.
He pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent assault and assault.
The complainant alleges that he was inappropriately touched by Kevin Spacey at the Club Car restaurant and bar, where the young man worked as a table attendant.
Mr. Jackson accused the prosecutors of lying when they denied having access to information on the complainant’s mobile phone.
The first assistant district attorney, Brian Glenny, said his office did not lie about it.
Jackson has asked the judge to hold the lawsuit this summer because Kevin Spacey is “suffering.” The judge replied that the trial would be held at the earliest this autumn.
