Recently, Rita became a guest of the Kelly Clarkson show, where she told how she was preparing for a sad outcome due to breast cancer. Last year, having learned the diagnosis, Rita wrote the song Throw Me A Party (“Take Me A Party”), which was based on a conversation between Wilson and her husband. Rita instructed Tom in case she passed away before him.
If I die before you, I want you to do two things. First, I want you to be sad longer. The second – arrange a holiday in honor of me! I want a party for people to sing, dance and tell stories. I want a real holiday. That’s what I told him, and that song was born out of it,
– Wilson shared in the studio.
