Harvey Weinstein has been transferred to the Rikers Island prison. His spokesman on Thursday confirms to American media that he no longer spends his time at the Bellevue Hospital Center in New York.
Earlier on Thursday it was rumored that Weinstein, who heard on March 11 what punishment he gets now that he was found guilty of sexual abuse, until the judge’s decision would remain in the hospital.
The former film producer was shot after his conviction for, among other things, chest pain and palpitations. 67-year-old Weinstein underwent treatment on Wednesday evening in which a stent was placed in his heart.
On 24 February, Weinstein was found guilty of assault and rape of two women in the court case against him. A jury of seven men and five women ruled that the film producer is guilty of two of the five charges.
Weinstein did not have to be in jail for the jury’s verdict.
