Reese Witherspoon (46) has commemorated the late actress Raquel Welch on Twitter. The two stars star together in the 2001 hit film ‘Legally Blonde’.

“It is so sad to hear that Raquel is dead,” the actress writes with a photo of the actress as Mrs Windham Vandermark, the character she plays in the film. ‘It was great to work together. She was elegant, professional and had more glamor in her than you can imagine.’

Raquel passes away at the age of 82. The actress is known for the sf films Fantastic Voyage and One Million Years BC . From the latter film comes the world-famous poster of the actress in a fur bikini. This image, which later played a major role in the movie classic The Shawshank Redemption , is still one of the best-selling posters ever.
With her most famous roles, Raquel dispelled the idea that only female blondes could be sex symbols. However, she continued to fight against that image for the rest of her life.
