Now that comedian Kevin Hart has announced that he no longer wants to present the Oscars, the organization of the Oscars is trying to find a replacement. The prize gala, which takes place on February 24, would be presented by several famous stars this year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter , the organization is working to include the cast of the Avengers film series.
The sources report that the actors who were asked to hand out a Golden Globe (which took place on Sunday) saved this offer so that the possibility remained open that they could do so during the forthcoming Oscar ceremony.
It is not known whether the organization only wants the actors from the superhero films as presenters, or whether other celebrities are approached.
It would not be the first time that (a part of) the cast would be on the stage of the annual film awards. Among others Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson were invited by the Oscar organization after the success of the first Avengersfilm in 2013 to award the Oscar for the best camera work (that year went to Life of Pi ).
The Academy does not yet want to respond to these rumors.
Newest Avengers movie will be released in May
Three Avengers films have been made so far . In the most recent, Avengers: Infinity War , superheroes like Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange and the Guardians of the Galaxy have to work together to prevent mega-snare Thanos from coming into possession of the six ‘infinity stones’.
The main roles are played by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Pratt, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Zoë Saldana and Josh Brolin.
The sequel, Avengers: Endgame , will be shown in the cinemas in May 2019.
Hart took away from the presentation after he became discredited by old tweets. In the messages on social media, the actor and comedian wrote homophobic texts.
