Orlando Bloom , in a video posted on Instagram by UNICEF, of which he is an ambassador, spoke about the “dark times” of his life and recalled a terrible incident from his youth, as a result of which he almost died.
When I was 19 I fell out of a third floor window and broke my back
he said.
I was very lucky that I survived the fall, my spinal cord was intact. For the first four days I was told that I would never walk again. For me, this was the beginning of a long and painful journey towards awareness and understanding of certain patterns of my behavior in the past, which led me to numerous accidents. The climax was that I broke my back, it was an experience on the brink of death.
Bloom underwent spinal surgery and then went through a long rehab.
The months after the fall were a dark time. As someone who has always been very active in life, I suddenly felt so many limitations. Besides, I was in a lot of pain
— shared the actor.

Protecting mental health is particularly challenging because of its “invisibility”. It is very important to extend a helping hand to people, to talk to them, to find someone to provide an opportunity to communicate so that this leads to transformation and change,
— says the actor.
