Survived by his wife, Sherri Saum, whom he married in 2007 and co-starred with on the iconic soap opera ‘One Life to Live,’ De Los Reyes leaves behind a family shattered by grief. The couple shared the joys of parenthood, raising 9-year-old twins John and Michael, while De Los Reyes was also a father to 26-year-old son Caylen from a previous relationship. He is further survived by his parents, Matilde and Walfredo, and four siblings – Daniel, Walfredo Jr., Lily, and Ilde.
Throughout his illustrious career, De Los Reyes made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. Notable roles in popular shows such as ‘Sleepy Hollow,’ ‘The Rookie,’ and ‘All American’ showcased his versatile talent. Additionally, he portrayed the villainous Menendez in various Call of Duty video games. However, his most enduring role was as cop Antonio Vega on ‘One Life to Live,’ spanning from 1995 to 1998 and then from 2000 to 2013.
At the time of his passing, De Los Reyes was actively involved in filming episodes for The CW’s ‘All American,’ where he portrayed Coastal California University’s Coach Montes. Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll paid tribute to the late actor, expressing deep sorrow over the loss and acknowledging his positive impact on the set.
