The American R&B singer R. Kelly has been sued again for sexual abuse. The allegations include an incident in January 2010, where the victim was between 13 and 16 years old, reports the Chicago Sun Times.
“It’s the same reproach, only accused differently”
The victim is referred to as JP, without further details being mentioned. In total, the singer has been charged with 11 new charges, for which he can be sentenced to 30 years in prison.
The artist has also previously been charged with the sexual abuse of minors. He was released on bail at the end of February and is awaiting trial. Kelly says he is innocent in the case, where he is suspected of abusing four people, including three minors, in the years 1998 through 2010.
According to R. Kelly’s lawyer, the new charges are for the same incidents for which the singer has already been charged. “It’s about the same reproach, just accused differently, the same alleged victim, the same time frame, the same facts. We expect the same result,” said Steve Greenberg.
