Margot Robbie Stuns as She Channels Iconic Barbie Look for World Premiere
Margot Robbie, the talented two-time Oscar nominee, left fans in awe with her enchanting transformation into a doll-like appearance at the star-studded world premiere of Barbie. Breaking away from her signature pink ensembles, Robbie opted for a captivating black ensemble that dazzled the attendees at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in downtown Los Angeles.
Working closely with her stylist Andrew Mukamal, the Australian actress meticulously recreated a vintage gown inspired by the 1960 Barbie doll known as ‘Solo in the Spotlight.’ The strapless trumpet gown, peep-toe kitten heels, opera gloves, and diamond choker all paid homage to the classic doll’s iconic outfit. The attention to detail was remarkable, with the dress featuring the same metallic shimmer, stiff tulle hemline, and red rose embellishment seen on the original doll’s frilly frock.
Makeup artist Pati Dubroff skillfully enhanced Robbie’s natural beauty for the occasion. Instead of replicating the doll’s blue eyeshadow, Dubroff focused on highlighting Robbie’s brows, applying a rosy blush to her cheekbones, and adorning her lips with a vibrant red shade.
The highly anticipated Barbie film, which brings the beloved Mattel doll to life, features Margot Robbie in the leading role and also marks her debut as a producer. Robbie reportedly secured a substantial $12.5 million paycheck for her involvement in the project. The fantasy flick, with a budget of $100 million, is co-written by three-time Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach. Renowned actress Helen Mirren lends her voice as the narrator for the film.
Joining Robbie in this exciting venture are acclaimed actors such as Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, John Cena, Michael Cera, Alexandra Shipp, Hari Nef, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Emerald Fennell. Barbie is set to hit theaters in the United States and the United Kingdom on July 21, promising an enchanting cinematic experience for audiences of all ages.
