Madonna’s highly anticipated “Celebration” tour has been postponed, as stated in a recent Instagram post by her manager, Guy Oseary. Originally set to kick off in Vancouver on July 15, the tour has been put on hold due to a significant setback.
On June 24, Madonna developed a severe bacterial infection that necessitated her admission to the intensive care unit (ICU). While her condition is showing signs of improvement, she still requires ongoing medical attention. A complete recovery is expected, but as a result, all commitments, including the tour, must be temporarily halted.
Further details, including a rescheduled start date for the tour and new show dates, will be shared with fans as soon as they become available.
The “Celebration” tour holds great significance for the 64-year-old singer. Spanning 43 cities worldwide, the tour is expected to span into the early months of the following year. It aims to showcase Madonna’s unparalleled musical catalog spanning over four decades while paying homage to her roots in New York City, where her music career began.
Presented by Live Nation, the tour includes stops in prominent locations such as Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and more, before venturing to Europe. In Europe, Madonna plans to perform in 11 cities during the fall, including London, Barcelona, Paris, Stockholm, and others. The European leg concludes in London on December 6, after which the tour is scheduled to return to North America for an additional run until January 20, 2024.
Expressing her excitement, Madonna stated in the tour’s announcement video that she is eager to explore a wide range of songs, aiming to provide her fans with the long-awaited spectacle they deserve.
