Macaulay Culkin Immortalized with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
On Friday, Hollywood Boulevard witnessed the induction of actor Macaulay Culkin into the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 43-year-old actor, renowned for his iconic role as young Kevin McCallister in the 1990 blockbuster “Home Alone” and its sequel, received the 2,765th star on the renowned Walk of Fame.
Culkin, who became a pop culture sensation at a young age, gained widespread recognition for his performances in hit movies like “Uncle Buck,” “Richie Rich,” and “My Girl.” Despite his initial success, Culkin continued to pursue acting in more low-key roles over the years, and in 2021, he graced the screen in the 10th season of the “American Horror Story” series.
The actor also ventured into stage acting and even formed a band, showcasing his versatility in the entertainment industry.
Catherine O’Hara, who portrayed Culkin’s mother in “Home Alone,” made a special appearance at the star ceremony, humorously acknowledging her on-screen son. “Thank you for including me, your fake Mom, who left you ‘Home Alone’ not once, but twice,” quipped O’Hara. She went on to express her pride in Culkin’s accomplishments, emphasizing the enduring global impact of “Home Alone.”
“Home Alone was, is, and always will be a beloved, global sensation because of Macaulay Culkin,” declared O’Hara. “Congratulations. You so deserve your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
In his acceptance speech, Culkin expressed gratitude to his long-time representatives and industry professionals who have guided him throughout his career since childhood. Actress Natasha Lyonne also spoke on behalf of Culkin during the ceremony. The actor took a moment to acknowledge his partner, actress Brenda Song, stating, “You’re the best person I’ve ever known. You’ve given me purpose, family. After the birth of our two boys, you’ve become one of my three favorite people.”
In a delightful nod to his famous role, Culkin concluded his speech with an iconic line from “Home Alone” – “Merry Christmas, you filthy animals.”
