The filming of the series ‘Luther’ is almost ready, lead actor Idris Elba (50) tells entertainment site ‘LADBible’.

“We are very proud of it”

For the film, Idris takes on the role of detective John Luther again. “We still have some finishing work to do for the film, but it’s almost there,” said the British actor. “We are very proud of it.”

Idris will play the role of Luther until the series’ final season in 2019. In September 2021, Netflix confirms that a film is coming. This time, Luther is up against two villains played by Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis. In November last year, Idris announced on social media that the shooting for the film has started. He posts photos on Instagram of a clapperboard and of Luther’s well-known outfit: a tweed jacket with a red scarf. “I’m back,” the actor wrote.

It is not yet known when the film will be released.
