Harvey Weinstein (68) is said to have deteriorated to such an extent that his lawyer fears he will die in prison if he is not released. That said one of his lawyers Friday during a hearing about a possible bail for the fallen film producer.

Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year sentence in New York for rape and sexual abuse. The film producer denies and appealed. In the meantime, Weinstein should be released on bail, his lawyers asked the judge.
They think their client is at risk of death if he is left in prison because of deteriorating health. “The defendant is almost blind, he is not mobile and he is on 20 types of medication,” one of his lawyers said in court Friday, according to US media.
Whether Weinstein will be released pending his appeal on bail will likely become clear on Monday. The judge said she expected to rule on Monday.
The film producer is accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women. He is jailed in New York for the sexual abuse and rape of two women. in Los Angeles there is another case against him. Weinstein is facing a 29-year sentence there.
